The Nigerian Chief of Army Staff storms scene of Abuja Kaduna train attack, orders troops to step up their search and rescue efforts and track down terrorists.
Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), paid a visit to the scene of the Abuja Kaduna train attack on March 29, 2022.

On arrival at the scene, the COAS, who was accompanied by some Army Headquarters principal staff officers and the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, assessed the security situation around the general area of the attack and inspected the attacked train as well as the rail track to determine the extent of damage.

He directed the Nigerian Army troops and other security agencies to step up their search and rescue operations in order to ensure that the kidnapped individuals are rescued without condition.

The COAS also promised Nigerians that the army will continue to battle banditry and other forms of criminality without relenting.

He asked residents of the neighboring villages, as well as other Nigerians, to continue to provide genuine information to troops so that they can improve their operations across the country.
The incident, according to Gen Yahaya, reaffirms the need for essential stakeholders to evaluate railway security across the country in order to achieve the required security architecture for railway transit.
