Church Forgives Man Who Stole Millions Worth Of Church Equipments (Photos)

Detectives in Kenya have recovered church equipments which include two video cameras and their accessories that were stolen from a city-based church last Sunday while the service was in progress.

According to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), while the church members were deep in prayer, two professional cameras valued close to Sh1 million vanished from the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Zimmerman Parish.

The church orderlies did not notice that the cameras had been stolen until after the service, much to the dismay of the congregation and clergy.

Kenya’s DCI detectives were then quickly contacted by the Church leadership via the #FichuakwaDCI hotline, and sleuths from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau took up the case.

It didn’t take long for the renowned crime fighters to identify the perpetrator.

Following extensive investigations, detectives discovered that the mastermind behind the disappearance of the church equipments was a recent convert who had received salvation in the Church.

Investigations revealed that one David Wanyonyi Simiyu from Trans-Nzoia county, stole the equipment and sold it to unscrupulous traders in Nairobi’s Imenti business area.

The suspects who acquired the equipment were also identified by forensic examination and monitoring done by the DCI mobile laboratory in Nairobi’s Central Business District.

The trio of Joshua Mulei, Douglas Karanja, and Stephen Thuo who bought the church equipment from the prime suspect.

In DCI’s new way of doing business, the three suspects, Joshua Mulei, Douglas Karanja, and Stephen Thuo, who deal in stolen electronic equipment, were unmasked electronically through forensics.

The suspects were also found with the two cameras and their accessories.

The three suspects are currently being held at Muthaiga police station while detectives continue their search for the main thug, David Simiyu.

Meanwhile, in accordance with the scriptures, the PCEA Zimmerman clergy have forgiven Simiyu and, like the prodigal son, have welcomed him back to the flock tomorrow.
