The Nigerian Army have said that, earlier today, gallant Nigerian troops of Operation Lake SANITY overran a Boko Haram/ISWAP Central Vehicle Fabrication Workshop (Boko Haram Mechanic Workshop) around the Lake Chad region.
According to the NA, troops also neutralized many terrorists and recovered weapons and equipments from the operation.

The Army also said that the Boko Haram Mechanic Workshop was destroyed, as were several bunkers where the insurgents store their fuel.

The Nigerian Army, after the operation, took to their Facebook page and wrote;
“Gallant troops of Operation LAKE SANITY today neutralized several terrorists and recovered weapons/ equipment around the Lake Chad axis. BokoHaram/ISWAP Central Vehicle Fabrication Workshop & several bunkers were also discovered and destroyed.”

Boko Haram in a nutshell:
1- Founded in 2002, the organization was initially dedicated on combating Western-style education.
2- In Hausa, Boko Haram means “Western education is forbidden.”

3- In 2009, Boko Haram began its military operations in Maiduguri.
4- Thousands of people were killed, especially in north-eastern Nigeria, and hundreds of people were kidnapped, including at least 200 schoolgirls.

5- The group then became a member of the so-called Islamic State; now refers to itself as “Islamic State in West African province.”
6- It seized a huge territory in the north-east and established a caliphate.

7- Since the start of counter-insurgency operations in 2015, the regional force has retaken the majority of land.
