The CJTF has continued to provide support for troops and especially in the Lake Chad region where the insurgents have their strongholds.

However, Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters have continued to attack troops in the surrounding area, with ambushes becoming a more common strategy.

The Nigerian Army has also adopted a policy in which military personnel have moved from smaller locations in cities and villages in favor of concentrating soldiers in “super camps” that are easier to defend against Boko Haram/ISWAP attacks.

Although the concentration of soldiers allows for mobile counter-insurgency operations, the military maneuvers itself provide Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters with ambush options.
