The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of Cameroon has allegedly captured three Boko Haram Gun Suppliers while trying to smuggle Ak 47 riffles into Nigeria from the Cameroon-Nigeria border.
The arrest is coming at a time when small arms proliferation has been identified as a major source of instability in Nigeria’s North East.

According to Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert, the interception of the Boko Haram gun suppliers on April 28, was prompted by credible intelligence of gunrunners transferring firearms into Nigeria from Gamborun Ngala, a Nigeria border town near Cameroon and the Niger Republic.
Below is a video of how the gun runners carefully conceal the weapons in the bonnet of the car;
According to the Zagazola, the highly vigilant forces staged a successful ambush and apprehended the offenders, noting that items found concealed in the vehicle included Ak47 rifles that were clearly destined for Boko Haram/Islamic State of the West African Province camps (ISWAP).
He said, the accused persons were handed over to the military authorities to be investigated further.
It will be recalled that the MNJTF, through Operation Lake Sanity had sustained its operational domination into the strong holds of the Boko Haram/ISWAP as well as intensified watch in all the illegal routes around the borders of the Lake Chad as part of the efforts to completely decimate the insurgents from the areas.
