Several Boko Haram fighters killed as the Nigerian Army troops of 5 Brigade, Sector 3 Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, based in Damasak, Borno state, inflicted a fatal blow to terrorists, destroying an illegal market operated by the terrorists on Friday the 7th day of January, 2020.
Three (3) terrorists were killed in the operation, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

When the gallant troops of the Nigerian Army were carrying out a clearance operation codenamed Operation DOMINANCE I, in Damasak general region, a fierce battle erupted at an illegal market operated by the terrorists in Gallo Malawari Village.

In the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno, Damasak, the head town of the Mobbar Local Government Area, has recently seen an increase in terrorist activity, which the resilient military have been able to effectively repel.

Some of the terrorists were forced to retreat as a result of the troops’ superior firepower, allowing 3 of them to be easily eliminated.



After a fierce battle, troops recovered a gun truck, 2 motorcycles, one AK 47 rifles, four empty magazines and rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and a slew of other weaponry.

“Troops of 5 Brigade, Sector 3 Joint Task Force(JTF), North East Operation HADIN KAI, while consolidating on their dogged push to deplete Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province Terrorists (ISWAP) in Borno State, recorded a decisive victory against the terrorists in Damask on Friday 7 January 2022.”
“The gallant troops, while conducting clearance operations, code named Operation DOMINANCE I, came in contact with the terrorists at an illegal market operated by the terrorists in Gallo Malawari Village. In the fierce encounter, three BH/ISWAP terrorists were neutralized, while others, bowing to superior firepower retreated in disarray.”
“Troops recovered one AK 47 Rifle, a truck, two Motorcycles, four empty magazines and rounds of 7.62mm ammunition amongst others.”
