Several members of Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgency group have been killed on Sunday the 30th of January, 2022 by gallant troops of the Nigerian Army in conjuction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) who ambushed their positions in Bala Maduri and Mallumti areas of Borno State.
The Nigerian Army news media reported that a camp belonging to Boko Haram and ISWAP’s fighters was burnt down in Bala Maduri area by troops of 25 Task Force Brigade, Damboa, Borno State.

Also, troops of 109 Strike Force Battalion in Magumeri, Borno State, ambushed another position that belongs to the terrorists in Mallumti area of Borno State.
Both attacks that took place in North East Nigerian State of Borno resulted in the death of many Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.

The Nigerian Army added that further exploitation are still ongoing in order to clamp down on the fleeing terrorists.

During the successful operations, several Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters were killed, according to the army, while several equipments and a vehicle belonging to the terrorists were recovered.
The army wrote in one of its statements:
“Troops of 25 Task Force Brigade Damboa, Borno State in conjunction with members of civilian JTF during a clearance operation today 30 January 2022 destroyed BHT/ISWAP camp at Bala Maduri. The camp was burnt down and several equipment were recovered.”

In the second statement the army wrote:
“Gallant troops of 109 Strike Force Battalion in Magumeri, Borno State on fighting patrol and night ambush towards Mallumti this evening infiltrated BHT/ISWAP location. Troops neutralized insurgents, recovered weapons and a vehicle. Further exploitation still ongoing.”

Some hours earlier, the same source confirmed that Boko Haram and Iswap terrorists were ambushed by gallant troops of 5 Brigade during a routine patrol near Damasak town in Borno State, with several terrorists neutralized and their camp burnt to the ground.
In recent months, the terrorist group has carried out multiple attacks in the North Eastern part of the country, resulting in the deaths of many people and the displacement of families.

The Jihadists have repeatedly targeted the region in a decade-long jihadist insurgency, killing over 36,000 people and displacing over two million more.
Statement released by the Nigerian Army with regards the successful operations at Mala Baduri and Mallumti reads;
Troops of 120 Task Force Battalion, Sector 2, Joint Task Force(JTF), North East(NE) Operation HADIN KAI(OPHK) in consolidating on their operational feat against Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province Terrorists (ISWAP) have eliminated the criminal elements in a fierce encounter at Goniri, Yobe State on Saturday 29 January 2022. Troops recorded this feat in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force(CJTF).
In a clearance operation code named “Operation DOMINANCE I, along the insurgents’ route of manouvre at Ngirbua village, the gallant troops neutralized two BH/ISWAP terrorists following a ferocious battle, while others, bowing to troops’ superior firepower retreated in disarray.
The troops recovered one AK 47 Rifle, one FN rifle and a motorcycle. These are aside other equipment recovered by troops.
The troops in conjunction with CJTF are currently, combing the general area to track down the fleeing insurgents.
Meanwhile, Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province Terrorists in Borno State have again sufered a bloody nose on Sunday 30 January 2022, as troops of Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI deployed at Forward Operating Base Magumeri came in contact with the terrorists while on a fighting patrol around Mallumti general area. In the firefight that ensued, the dogged troops neutralized three terrorists and recovered three AK47 Rifles , one magazine, quantity 23 of 7.62mm special ammunition, one pick-up truck, two solar panels, seven mobile phones, food stuff and provisions, among others.
The good people of Yobe and Borno states are please enjoined to support the troops with actionable information on the movement of any insurgent in their localities.
