Fresh Boko Haram Ambush has left many civilian JTF and hunters dead in Yobe.
After militants from the Islamic State-backed offshoot of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province, attacked Gujba Local Government Area in Yobe State, many members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and hunters are believed to have been slain.

The terrorists, who arrived in ten gun trucks, stormed the area on Wednesday morning, according to Sahara Reporters.
“Earlier today, ISWAP/Boko haram ambushed members of the Civilian JTF and hunters. “At this time, I am unable to confirm the number of victims,” a military source stated.

ISWAP has been consolidating its control in areas around Lake Chad since the death of Boko Haram commander Abubakar Shekau.
Wali Sani Shuwaram, a 45-year-old man, was recently appointed as the new Leader of ISWAP in Lake Chad.
Hundreds of Boko Haram fighters have defected from the late Shekau’s camp, increasing the ISWAP’s membership.
This is not the first time Nigerian security forces are experiencing a Boko Haram Ambush. Late last year an army general and three soldiers were killed in a Boko Haram ambush attack on a remote town known as Askira in northeast Borno State.
The Nigerian Army has stated that the insurgency has been mostly defeated on numerous occasions, while downplaying any losses.
The terror group has killed over 100,000 people and displaced millions of people, mostly in the states of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe.
