A school teacher and four others have been reported killed by bandits near Layin Lasan Tabanni road in Kaduna State’s Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
According to a report by Daily Trust, 16 persons were also kidnapped at Dogon Dawa, Layin Mahuta, and Tabanni villages In the eastern part of the same Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
This is according to a statement released by Birnin Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, which was signed by Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, the Chairman.
The unfortunate incident, according to the group, occurred over the course of four days, from March 14th to March 19th, 2022.
According to them, bandits killed one Haruna Tanko Dogon Dawa and two others on the Dogon Dawa-Zaria road on March 14.
“On the same road, eight other people were kidnapped.”
On Wednesday, March 16th, 2022, a school teacher named Abdullahi Abubakar was assassinated along the Layin Lasan’ Tabanni road in Layin Mahuta (Tabanni).
“A 70-year-old man was also killed and seven ladies abducted at Layin Mahuta Tabanni on Thursday the 17th.” “At old Tabanni, two more persons were kidnapped,” Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari said.
Bandits released 32 of the 46 people abducted at Unguwar Bula and Ijinga three weeks ago in Randagi after paying a N16 million ransom, according to the Chairman.
The group also asked security officers in the Dogon Dawa, Kuyello, Tabanni, and Kutemashi wards of Birnin Gwari to always react to crisis calls.
Baban Yara, a youth leader in Kuyello ward, claimed the late teacher was his uncle and described him as a trustworthy man.
Hajiya Ummah K. Ahmed, the Chairperson of the Local Government, stated that the teacher had been killed by the bandits, but added that one other person had been injured.
The injured, however, have been transferred to the hospital for treatment.
“I only know about the teacher who was killed and one other person who was injured by a gunshot, and I ordered his treatment.” So I’m not aware of the other incidents and kidnappings mentioned by the group,” she simply stated.
