Nigerian police arrest 8 house burglary offenders, recovers various household items

The Nigerian Police on Thursday arrested 8 men allegedly involved in several house burglary incidents in Ekiti State.

Eight alleged burglars have been reportedly arrested by the Ekiti State Police Command in various places around the state.

In a statement issued by the command Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Mobayo, said the various burglary syndicates were apprehended at their hideouts.

“A case of burglary and stealing was reported by a complainant on 6/03/2022 that his residence was burgled by unknown hoodlums who carted away some of his valuables,” Abutu added.

3 suspects, namely, Akanle Olaniyi, Akinwumi Ojo, and Adewumi Adeola were arrested by the police in connection to the crime.

“A shop was also burgled on Idemo Street in Ado-Ekiti on March 12th, and a suspect, Adebayo Jamiu, was caught at the scene with one standing fan and 14 generator coils recovered.”

In another burglary incident, the duo of Abdullahi Musa, 35, and Yaya Tasu, 30, were caught and detained in the Atikankan neighborhood while attempting to sell two iron doors reportedly stolen from the GRA, according to Abutu.

Another buglar, Femi Dipo, one of those arrested also confessed to robbing a boutique and described how he had been caught and charged with the same offense on multiple occasions.
