Nicodemus Ignatius, a 31-year-old man from Adamawa State, has been arrested for allegedly killing his 75-year-old father.
Nicodemus, a resident of Unguwan Bistel in Song town, Song Local Government Area, committed the crime on March 3, 2022, immediately after returning from a bar.

The PUNCH METRO revealed in a news report that Nicodemus had allegedly threatened to kill his father on many occasions.
However, because of the threats To his 75-Year-Old father’s life, the police arrested him in November last year. But out of pity, the father filed a lawsuit to have his son released from police custody.
A neighbor told Punch correspondent that, “on that fateful day, Nicodemus had gone home from the joint where he normally drinks at around 8:00 pm and met his late father and mother in the room and decided to lock both of them up.”

“However, the 75-year-old father, sensing danger and fearing that his son could set the house on fire, jumped out of the window to flee.” He had no idea that his son had since picked up a stick.
“The suspect, wielding the stick, pounced on his father and struck him with the stick, shattering his head and this led to his untimely death.”
The suspect admitted to killing the father while under the influence of marijuana after the crime was reported to the police.
“I smoked Indian hemp on that terrible day and profoundly regret my deed,” Nicodemus remarked, unable to come up with a convincing reason for his father’s death.
DSP Suleiman Nguroje, Adamawa State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the occurrence and said the suspect will be charged in court soon.
After the inquiry is completed, he stated the accused will be charged in court soon, and he warned the public not to take laws into their own hands.
