At least six Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists were allegedly killed by an IED trap they set for Nigerian forces in Borno State’s north east, according to Zagazola.
The rebels were said to have met their demise while returning from a looting raid in Nguma village in Borno’s Biu Local Government Area.

A military source said that the terrorists who were on three guntrucks and one motorcycle were returning from the axis between Sabongari and Multe when one of their vehicles, a Toyota Hilux, ran over an Improvised Explosive Device.

Consequently, angered by the incidents, the terrorists vented their anger and eliminated a Fulani man, his wife and son.
They later picked up the remains of their murdered Mujahedeens and fled the scenes, according to the sources.
In recent times, the Nigerian Army have intensified its clearance operations to flush out the remnants of the terrorists around the fringes of the Lake Chad region and other part of the Northeast.
Thousands of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, including combatants, non-combatants, and foot soldiers, as well as their families, have continued to lay down their arms and accept peace as a result of the continuous military bombardment in the war torn North East.
Boko Haram has been fighting in northeast Nigeria since 2009. Its attacks have spread to Niger, Chad, and Cameroon, eliciting a military response. The group has also become splintered, with one faction pledging allegiance to ISIL (ISIS).
