The police in Niger State has arrested 32 “Yan Sara Suka” thugs in connection to the alleged murder of a shop owner at Ogbomosho road, one Ifeanyi Patrick aged 39yrs, and a police man in the state.
DSP WASIU A. ABIODUN, the Police Public Relations Officer for Niger State Command, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, the 24th of January, 2022.

Abiodun said, on January 21, 2022, at approximately 0900 hours, information was received that thugs from the Ogbomosho and Limawa sections of Minna, known as “Yan Sara Suka,” were fighting in the Lagos Street and Unguwar-Daji areas with machetes, sticks, stones, and other deadly weapons.

“Police patrol teams were immediately dispatched to the area to prevent the breakdown of law and order, and the thugs were dispersed. Unfortunately, a shop owner on Ogbomosho Road, Ifeanyi Patrick, 39, was stabbed to death as a result of the thuggery, and a police officer was also killed.

“However, fourteen (14) individuals were detained at the spot, and normalcy was restored, while eighteen (18) other suspects were apprehended at Limawa, Unguwar-Daji, Unguwar-Sarki, Abayi-close, and Kongila in a follow-up raid on 22/01/2022 at around 1600hrs.

“Items recovered from the Yan Sara Suka Thugs include; Two (2) saw blades, Two (2) cutlasses, Two (2) scissors, One (1) knife, Two (2) catapults, Twelve (12) handsets, Two (2) catapults, Two (2) catapults, Two (2) sticks (optional)
and a total of #77,560 in cash.”
According to the statement, all suspects are being investigated by the SCID in Minna and will be arraigned in court once the investigation is complete.
