The holidays are filled with such joy, such excitement, such wonder.  It truly is an amazing time of year.

But, but it’s also a time of year when you need to be extra-cautious with your child especially In this part of the world where In recent times, security – or, more accurately, the lack of it – has been one of the most prominent items on the news agenda in Nigeria.

Hardly a week goes by without a report of a terrorist attack or cases of kidnap for ransom being reported in the media.

So, the Delta State Police Command have compiled a list of great tips that will help you and your kids through this dramatic holiday season. See tips below;

2- Don’t leave them alone.

6- Give them rules on what to do and what not to do e.g don’t go close to the gas cooker or try to ON the generator.

7- No visitors you are not aware of should be allowed in your absence

8- If you can, install a CCTV in your home that you can monitor through your phone.

9- Give your children phone with your numbers or trusted relatives numbers they can call if there’s any emergency.

10- Don’t s end them errands unnecessarily.

11- Don’t force them to stay with who they are not comfortable with.
