Mr Gimba’s brother, simply identified as Hassan was allegedly one of the soldiers who paid the ultimate price during the gun battle.
Mr Gimba, a resident of Southern Kaduna, used Facebook on Tuesday, April 5, to express his grief over his younger brother.
See post below;
“It was a shocking news of your death my kid brother. You died in a battle field by bandits in protecting your fatherland in Kaduna state. Continue resting at master feet. Pray for my family.”
In another post, he wrote;
“Continue rest in peace my brother evil one cut your life short, God will surely expose them, Kaduna??? Bandit??? God bring peace in Nigeria.”
Hundreds of people have been kidnapped and killed by armed bandits in northwest Nigeria over the last decade.
Last Monday, an attack by armed groups known locally as bandits on a military base in Birnin Gwari in Nigeria’s northwestern state of Kaduna left at least 10 soldiers dead and an unconfirmed number of others wounded.
