Fake Police Officer Arrested In Kano State

Abdullahi Sarari, a fake police officer who has been going about in police uniforms and extorting people has been apprehended by the police in Kano state.

According to a press release released by the Kano state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Haruna Kiyawa, the command received complaints about the alleged fake police officer from three people in Kano Metropolis.

According to Kiyawa, the fake police officer wore a police uniform with his name engraved on it, went to a number of establishments, made purchases totaling N104,000, collected their bank account information, and claimed to have made transfers sometime in January.

He said that the business owners didn’t receive the payments however they let him go because he was wearing a police uniform.

He, on the other hand, did not pay the money owed to them and failed to answer their calls, prompting them to contact the police.

The suspect, Yusuf Abdullahi, also known as Abdullahi Sarari, of Gano Town, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area in Kano State, was subsequently apprehended by the command after continued efforts and extensive follow-ups.

During the course of the inquiry, the suspect confessed to the crime and stated that he had formerly been passionate about joining the police force, had attempted numerous times, and had failed exams.

He claimed he opted to sew the police uniform he used to scare and mislead the public.

Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, Kano State Police Commissioner, has ordered a discreet inquiry, after which the case would be presented to court for prosecution.
