The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has disclosed that it has killed 2 Boko Haram terrorists and members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Vretet-Zamga-Ngoshe triangle in the general area of Kirawa on the Nigeria/Cameroon border.
This was contained in a statement issued by Colonel Muhammad Dole, Chief of Military Public Information, HQ MNJTF N’Djamena Chad.
It said between the 23rd and 27th of February 2022, MNJTF sector 1 Cameroon troops conducted operations in the Vretet-Zamga-Ngoshe triangle in the general area of Kirawa on the Nigeria/Cameroon border, where several BHT/ISWAP insurgents were neutralized and many fled with gunshot wounds.
During the operation, a significant amount of materials and food stuff were recovered.
Items recovered from the terrorists include; 1 AK47 rifle, 1 AK47 magazine, various 7.62 MM special version ammunitions, 21 bicycles, 1 Boko Haram terrorist uniform, 39 bags millet, and 2 bags beans.
According to intelligence, the items recovered were being smuggled from the borders to Sambisa Forest.
The terrorists, according to the statement are thought to be stockpiling supplies for the upcoming month of Ramadan.
Further exploitation of the engagement areas showed traces of blood, evidence of BHT/ISWAP criminals removed corpses of their dead colleagues while 2 corpses of Boko Haram criminals were discovered.
- Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim, Force Commander (FC) MNJTF, has offered his personal congratulations to Brigadier General Bouba Dobekreo, Commander Sector 1 with headquarters (HQs) in Mora (Cameroon). The FC applauded the troops’ bravery and valor as they continue to carry out special operations against the militants.
He advised them to remain determined, brave, and unpredictable, as well as to maintain dominance in the area, in order to cut off BHT/ISWAP terrorists from any logistical supplies.
General Ibrahim pledged that the MNJTF’s HQs would make aggressive efforts to guarantee that all sectors receive the equipment that had lately been allocated to them.
