6 Boko Haram informants, food and logistical suppliers have been reportedly arrested in Mandaragirau village, Biu Local Government Area, Borno State.
According to a news report emanating from Vanguard, the suspected boko haram informants have all been handed over to military officials at Abogo Largema Military Cantonment in Biu yesterday.
The accused were apprehended by a renowned hunter leader from the neighboring Hawul Local Government Area and his team on Tuesday night.
According to sources, the hunters’ leader and his crew invaded Mandaragirau based on intelligence and fished out the suspects from their various residences; fortunately, the other suspect was neutralized when he attempted to shoot the hunters.
The suspects confessed to being Boko Haram collaborators in a video according to the Vanguard News.
They also revealed the identities of some of their colleagues (who are still at large).
According to the arrested Boko Haram informants, they use several Bedford Toyota Hilux and other trucks to take weaponry and food to the group currently occupying abandoned communities in Wajirko, Sambisa Forest’s Biu and Damboa axis.
“We are really grateful for this bunch of heroic hunters from Hawul who led an operation to Mandaragirau hamlet yesterday,” a Mandaragirau villager told Vanguard over the phone yesterday (Tuesday). They were able to apprehend the Boko Haram informants who have been terrorizing our town for years, thus it was a successful operation.”
