The police in Oyo State confirmed the rescue of the two suspected kidnappers, urging the General public to stay away from taking the law into their own hands .
This was revealed by the command’s spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, in an Ibadan statement on Monday.
Mr Osifeso said police officers responded to a distress call on the “execution of jungle justice” around 9:20 a.m. on Sunday around the Alakia Adelubi axis.
The men were accused of attempting to kidnap the girl when she was on her way to church.
According to preliminary investigations, the girl was with her mother, Afolabi Modupe, and other siblings when the two suspects attempted to kidnap her from her mother’s clutches.
“The state’s commissioner of police, Ngozi Onadeko, urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands, promising a rigorous and thorough inquiry into the incident,” he added.
